Our Process

01. Puppy Application

We ask all interested families to please complete a puppy application so that we can learn about your situation, preferences,  and commitment to owning and caring for a Golden Retriever. We will contact you regarding the availability and the status of your application. We welcome visits by appointment to meet our girls prior to a decision.

02. Deposit

Once you are ready to commit to a puppy, we require a $500 deposit. This holds your place in line to choose a pup from a specific litter but does not guarantee a puppy. If a low litter count, accident, or medical conditions should prevent us from being able to provide you with a puppy, we will move your deposit to a future litter or provide a refund (minus a $25 processing fee). The deposit is also refundable (minus the $25 processing fee) if you should change your mind or be unable to commit to a puppy due to a change in a circumstance prior to your 6-week visit. We prefer to use Venmo for deposits but we can also invoice you.

03. Visit

We invite families to visit and choose their puppy from the litter at 6 weeks of age following the order of deposits. By 6 weeks puppies have started to develop a personality and will have had their first puppy shots and health screening. Each puppy will have a different collared collar for identification. Once you choose a puppy we will provide you with their health screening paperwork. We will also provide you with lots of information and a puppy schedule as you prepare to bring your puppy home.

04. Payment and Pickup

Puppies are ready to go home at 8 weeks of age. We will have a litter blanket, some puppy food, and registration paperwork for you to take. Families will need to sign our Puppy Contract and the remaining balance is due at this time.  We prefer cash or a check for the final payment.

Please email us for pricing, it does vary by litter. Our prices do not include tax, which will be added to the invoice.

We are also willing to personally deliver your puppy if you cannot come to our farm. We charge $50.oo per hour and $.75 per mile round trip. Please contact us for further details.

We are always just an email or phone call away and appreciate staying in touch with our Meadow Brook Pups!

According to the AKC, a Responsible breeder might ask the following questions:

What is the primary purpose of you getting a dog ?

Do you have any previous experience with dogs?

Do you have any other pets at home?

How many hours per day will the dog be alone?

Do you have a secure and safe living environment for the dog?

Are you willing to take the dog for regular veterinary check-ups?
